Who's been having the best year so far? Cristiano friggin' Ronaldo.
06 June 2017

As if he wasn’t already having an insanely great year, Real Madrid fan favourite, Cristiano Ronaldo, has pipped Lionel Messi to be on the cover of FIFA 18! The 32-year-old just won the coveted Champions League title for the second time in a row (making Real Madrid the only team to do so), won his second La Liga title, won the Ballon d’Or Trophy, won the Euro Cup 2016 with Portugal, and the Best FIFA Men’s Player Award. Jesus, that’s some list.

To add those monumental feats of sportsmanship, after being snubbed out for years, CR7 has FINALLY made it to the cover of FIFA 18. About time, isn’t it?

Before Borussia Dortmund wonder-boy, Marco Reus snatched a spot on last years FIFA 17 cover, Messi was the dominant figure on the covers for the past four years, and for good reason. But now, with Ronaldo completely annihilating his top competitor on all fronts, it seems more than fitting that he gets the recognition on the most familiar games in the world.

The short but satisfying AF trailer sees Ronaldo engaging in some serious dribbling, and making some Chelsea players look like fools. The scene cuts to him taking his famous free-kick stance before putting it in the back of the net (obviously). He then proceeds to do his classic “Hulk” celebration and the stadium erupts.

We can’t even begin to explain how excited we are for this! The game releases on PS4 and Xbox One on 29 September.
