He's coming to swipe Taylor Swift and Sam Smith's crowns.

Four years after his last album, Eminem is reportedly making his big return next month. The rapper is set to unleash his ninth studio album just one week after Taylor Swift’s Reputation, meaning the Look What You Made Me Do singer’s expected long run at number one will probably be cut short after just one week.

A legend of Eminem’s kind will always draw huge numbers – a combination of his legacy, a dedicated fan base and a four-year wait between records will do that – and we doubt this will be any different. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 debuted at number one in the UK and sold an insane 792,000 copies in its first week in the US, becoming his sixth chart-topping album on both sides of the Atlantic.

The album featured his eighth UK number one single ‘The Monster’ featuring Rihanna, which followed their iconic 2010 collaboration ‘Love The Way You Lie’, and features from Sia and Kendrick Lamar. While it’s unknown when the lead single will be released, Eminem is rumoured to be featured on P!nk’s new album Beautiful Trauma on the song ‘Revenge’, which would definitely start the buzz for a new Em album.

The rapper has been working on his new album since 2016, as he confirmed when he released a one-off single Campaign Speech – a diss track about Donald Trump – last October. He also appeared on Big Sean’s latest album I Decided. earlier this year but in general there’s been a massive Eminem-shaped hole in the music industry, and it’s about time we had his voice back.
