The singer hosted BBC's new show Sounds Like Friday Night.

Liam Payne had a major surprise for fans when he hosted Sounds Like Friday Night at the weekend. The One Direction star opened the new BBC show with his latest solo single Bedroom Floor but opted for a cover of another pop banger for his acoustic performance. Accompanied by strings and piano, Payne took on P!nk’s massive anthem What About Us and delivered a stunning rendition of the emotional track.

It’s no secret that P!nk has one of the biggest, most powerful voices in pop so it’s a huge testament to Liam’s talent that he was able to pull it off. The Strip That Down singer sounded gorgeous as he gave a sincere performance and reminded fans of just how good a singer he is as he belted out the hit. Besides Liam, the show featured big performances from Dizzee Rascal, London Grammar and Mabel, who performed the smash hit Finders Keepers.

Bedroom Floor is the second single from Payne’s debut solo album, due out in 2018, and follows the massive Strip That Down, which hit the Top 10 in the U.S. He’s set to perform the single this Sunday (Nov 12th) at the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards, alongside Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes and more.

Colour us excited…
