It’s been three years since Sam Smith debuted his four-time Grammy winning In The Lonely Hour, spawning hits like Stay With Me and I’m Not The Only One, which still sound as fresh as ever. His last single, Writings On The Wall, for Spectre, back in 2015, became the first Bond movie theme to top the UK Singles Chart. Since then Smith seemingly dropped out of the spotlight, but much to the delight of his fans, it appears his sophomore effort is well on its way.

In fact, when Sam put this heartfelt letter on Instagram, it generated considerable buzz :

Expected to be the lead single from his new album, the track should hit Spotify on 8 September. Earlier, Smith had sparked rumours about a possible collaboration with R&B producer legend Timbaland.

Whatever comes out of this, we can’t wait!
