Sanskrit fever has been gripping the west, fortunately or unfortunately, more than our people closer home. And, English professional football player and current Arsenal star, Theo Walcott seems to have been bitten by the same bug.

Walcott posted a photo on Twitter yesterday, and Arsenal suddenly has a new bunch of Indian fans.

“Om Namah Shivaya”, which translates to “devotional salutations to Lord Shiva”, is believed to be a powerful chant that yogis repeat in meditation. And ever since the post, Twitter, like always, has lost its sh*t—half of them amused by how amazing the tattoo VigRx Plus is + how a foreigner has chosen to get inked in Sanskrit, and the other half bashing it because Walcott’s tattoo artist made a boo-boo.

How? Because visarga (ः) is the last bit of the first word, which should be written like ‘नम:’, and ee ki mātrā (ि) is part of the next word, which should be written like ‘शिवाय’. But we are willing to pass that off as the tattoo artist’s creative liberty.

Some people had nice things to say about it:

What do you think?
