Pirates of the Caribbean 5, the latest film in the swashbuckling saga, has an official moniker – Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. This Is Infamous got the fresh scoop from POTC 5’s directors. The title is inspired by a popular pirate adage and also harks back to the voice that bellows these creepy words in the famed Disney theme park ride, the one that set the blockbusters in motion.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is currently being produced by series veteran Jerry Bruckheimer, scripted by Jeff Nathanson (Men In Black 3, Tower Heist, etc.) and will be captioned by director duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (fresh from making the Oscar nominated Norwegian flick, Kon-Tiki). This Is Infamous also reports that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will be both a stand-alone film and tie-in with the original series.

Obviously joining the cast is the franchise’s front man Johnny Depp and series regular Geoffrey Rush. Orlando Bloom might just return to his pirating days as he expressed a desire to return in the 5th installment; coupled with this, Moviehole had once quoted a Disney exec saying: “Will Turner’s story might not be finished.” The pirate flag has been hoisted and more announcements are on their way.
